**+ Position Description **
Recovery Resources is seeking detail-oriented and professional Drug Screening Technicians/Observers to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct drug screening collections and ensure the integrity and accuracy of the testing process while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance with all protocols. This position plays a critical role in supporting individuals in recovery and ensuring compliance for our community partners.
This position is Full-Time, with employees working 3 consecutive 12 hour shifts (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), with PRN opportunities.
- Conduct drug and alcohol screenings using approved collection methods, including urine, oral fluid, and breath tests. Proper PPE will be provided.
- Serve as an Observer during same-gender urine specimen collection to maintain the integrity of the process.
- This role may occasionally require covering shifts on unscheduled days to support team members during vacations, illnesses, or staffing needs, offering a great opportunity to earn additional hours while contributing to a supportive team environment.
- Accurately document all screening activities, including chain of custody paperwork and specimen handling. Documentation will also take place using computer-based software
- Maintain a clean, secure, and professional testing environment.
- Ensure compliance with all company, state, and federal guidelines related to drug testing procedures.
- Communicate professionally with clients, employers, and team members to ensure clarity and confidentiality throughout the process.
- Communicate clearly in person, over the phone, and via email. Manage testing supplies, inventory, and equipment to ensure readiness for all screenings.
**+ Qualifications **
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Experience in drug testing, healthcare, or related fields is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
- Sufficient computer-based skills; use of a computer and specific software will be a regular part of this position.
- Ability to work with a diverse client base, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict procedures.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently.
- Ability to conduct same-gender specimen observation as required. You must be comfortable directly observing a client while they produce a sample.
**+ Physical Requirements **
- The role may require extended periods of sitting, standing, or walking, as well as the use of hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (specimen supplies and equipment).
**+ Work Environment **
This position requires flexibility to work in various settings, including office-based and clinical testing environments. The work environment is indoors, with a noise level that is generally low to moderate. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines are routinely used. Regular communication and collaboration with team members and clients are essential.
