Therapeutic Riding
OVERVIEW
Healing through the horse-human connection.
Our Therapeutic Riding Program offers a compassionate and nurturing space for individuals of all ages who have faced trauma or emotional challenges. By blending the gentle strength of horses with trauma-informed care, we create meaningful opportunities for healing, connection, and personal growth.
We begin each participant’s journey with groundwork—building trust, confidence, and communication alongside the horse from the ground before ever getting in the saddle. This gentle introduction allows individuals to grow comfortable, feel safe, and form a strong bond with their equine partner at their own pace.
Whether it’s helping an adult rebuild trust and self-worth or supporting a child in learning to navigate big emotions, each session is thoughtfully tailored to meet participants right where they are on their unique path to healing.
HOW IT WORKS
Our Therapeutic Riding Program provides a safe, supportive space where individuals of all ages can explore healing and personal growth through connection with horses. No prior experience is needed.
We begin with groundwork—helping participants build trust and confidence alongside the horse before riding begins. This gentle start supports emotional safety and fosters a meaningful bond between horse and participant.
Each session is designed to help participants better understand and manage their emotions, become more aware of their bodies, and build trust—in themselves, others, and their horse. The quiet, steady presence of the horse creates a calming environment where participants can feel grounded, supported, and at ease.
Rooted in trauma-informed care, our program prioritizes safety, choice, and empowerment. We foster trust through consistent routines, open communication, and cultural sensitivity. When appropriate, we also welcome the involvement of families or support networks as part of the healing process.
